Industrial Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship

Industrial Mechanic Apprenticeship

Program competencies include:

• Industrial Safety, Preventative Maintenance, Troubleshooting/Repair/Installation of electrical and mechanical equipment; Identify, care, and use of tools of the trade; Programming of equipment/systems; demonstrated use of drawings & schematics

Mechatronics Technician Apprenticeship

Our newest registered apprenticeship program trains employees working in manufacturing and logistics to become Mechatronics Technicians, giving them the skills to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, digital, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and motion controls systems.

Program competencies include:

• Safety processes, communication, technical documentation, computer knowledge, automated material transport, troubleshooting & return to service, industrial computer systems, and robotic systems
• Trainings offered at Chaffey College InTech Center are not for credit
• Upon completion receive Journey-level certification through the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) and the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship

Achieving Journey-level Status

The Chaffey College InTech Center provides hands-on, accelerated education to enhance an apprentice’s on-the-job training. Through this experience, an apprentice will be able to achieve journey-level status in two–four years, becoming an expert in their trade.

For employers who are struggling to find skilled workers, competency-based apprenticeships provide a pipeline of well-trained, qualified candidates. Registered apprenticeships combine curriculum and on-the-job training that prepare trainees for today’s workplace.

Current InTech apprenticeship trainings are in collaboration with the Inland/Desert Employers Apprenticeship Committee and are registered through the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) and the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship. They are applicable to manufacturing and distribution companies. Programs offered include Industrial Maintenance Electrician, Industrial Mechanic and Mechatronics Technician.

• Pre-apprenticeship programs provide pre-screened, ready-to-work candidates who have been trained in the specific skills employers need.
• Pre-apprenticeship addresses employer challenges of developing a talent pipeline to fill middle-skilled jobs and they save employers valuable time and money on recruiting and training.

The InTech Employer Engagement Team helps employers job match with students who complete our accelerated training programs in the following areas:

• Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Pre-Apprenticeship
• Automation, Robotics and Mechatronics (ARM) Pre-Apprenticeship
• Welding
