Panther Promise
Chaffey College provides up to two years of FREE tuition to all first-time college students.
What does it cover?
- Waiver of enrollment fees ($46 per unit). Eligible students of the Chaffey College Panther Promise will receive a waiver of all enrollment fees after applying for financial aid.
- Students are responsible for any books, supplies and materials fees that a class requires, as well as other non-tuition fees.
Panther Promise Requirements for Year 1:
- Complete and submit the Chaffey College online Application
- Complete the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)or the California Dream Act Application
- Chaffey College School Code 001163
- Includes submission of all required financial aid documentation.
- Be a California Resident or qualify as an AB540
- Complete the Chaffey College Orientation. Log onto MyChaffey Portal, click on the “New Student Registration Steps” tab and the orientation is listed under Step 3.
- Complete an Educational Plan. To obtain an Educational Plan, make appointment with an academic counselor by visiting the Counseling website.

Full Time Enrollment (minimum of 12 units or more per semester); Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

Must be a First Time college student, and who have never attended college. Excludes prior concurrent enrollment while in high school, dual enrollment and immediate prior summer enrollment, i.e. Summer 2024.
- Students with qualifying disabilities may be eligible for the Panther Promise with less than 12 units if certified by Disability Programs and Services Department (DPS) . For more information contact DPS at DPS.staff@chaffey.edu
- There is no income requirements
Requirements to enter Year 2 of the Promise Program (Fall 2024)
- Complete 2025-26 FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (Apply by October 1, 2024)
- Includes submission of all required financial aid documentation.
- Enroll Full time each semester (minimum 12 units or more per semester)
We encourage all students to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (if student is AB540-eligible through Admissions).
Incoming students completing the previous steps will automatically be considered for the Chaffey College Panther Promise, and will be awarded a California College Promise Grant (CCPG) ,or the Panther promise program! Students who apply through the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) may also be eligible for additional financial aid.
