The CNA application link will only be available at the information sessions and will not be available on this website

Register and attend a CNA Information Session.
Students are required to attend a CNA Information Session to learn more about Chaffey’s Nurse Assistant program. The CNA application link will only be available at the information sessions and will not be available on this website. 

Topics at the information session include: accreditation information, duties of a CNA, employment outlook, program costs, curriculum, sample of a weekly schedule, application instructions and much more! Information Session attendance will be recorded.

CNA Application Filing Periods:

During the fall semester for a spring (January) start, the filing period will be from September – October. 

During the spring semester for a fall (August) start, the filing period will be from February – March. 

Specific dates and details will be discussed at the CNA Information Session.

Requirements to Apply: 

  • Students must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Students must have a Chaffey College student ID number. New and returning students can apply to Chaffey College using the link below.
  • Students must attend a CNA Information Session.
  • Students must complete a current CNA application during the application period.

Selection Process:

For the fall 2024 selection process (students to start in January 2025):

Students that attend the CNA Information Session and complete a CNA application will be randomly selected for acceptance.

60 students will be randomly selected.

For the spring 2025 selection process (students to start in August 2025):

Preferred consideration

Preferred consideration for program selection will be given to students that have completed GERO-11 (Introduction to Gerontology) with a B grade (3.0 GPA) or higher at the time of application submission.

However, students may still apply to the program without preferred status if they haven't completed GERO-11 with a B grade (3.0 GPA) or higher or are currently enrolled in the course.

60 students will be selected.

 

After the Application Period:

Students will be notified of their acceptance by the last business day in October during the fall application period and the last business day in March during the spring application period. 

Prior to beginning the program, students that are provisionally accepted and/or have been selected as alternates will be required to complete the following:

  1. Attend a Pre-screening Session (in-person) to begin the health screening process.
  2. Complete the health screening process, including all required vaccinations for clinical rotations.
  3. Pass a drug screening and background check.
  4. Obtain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification as an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider. CPR courses are typically provided by the program. The CPR card must be active during the full program.

More information regarding these screenings will be given at the mandatory CNA Pre-screening Session (in-person). 

Dates and times for the mandatory CNA Pre-screening Session (in-person) will be given at the time of acceptance.
