Wildfire Smoke Advisory
September 11, 2024
Dear Campus Community,
I hope this message finds you well and safe. I want to provide an update from the Office of Safety and Risk Management regarding the current air quality due to the current fire activity. The most recent update from the Air Quality Management District (AQMD) shows our air quality has improved. Therefore, there is currently no restriction on outdoor activity.
This morning’s air quality rating is now “moderate” and no restrictions are necessary. Due to the number of fires burning so closely this could change throughout the day. Please know Risk Management is monitoring the air quality frequently during the day and will issue a notification of any changes in air quality.
Please know that keeping the campus community safe is one of our most important priorities.
We will update the community as conditions change.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (ext. 6550 or julie.leggin@chaffey.edu) or Nicole Leonard (ext. 6523 or nicole.leonard@chaffey.edu) if you have any questions or need further information.
Thank you,
Julie Leggin
Interim Director of Safety and Risk Management
