Statement on Political Violence

History has shown us time and time again that political violence is never the solution. The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump should serve as a jarring reminder of this. It should also remind us all that it is not through division or disagreement that we stand the strongest. It is when we are able to stand together by engaging in dialogue, and seeking ways to find common ground despite our differences, that we are the strongest.

At Chaffey College, we do not stand for violence as an answer to anything. Our focus and passion is improving lives through education. Let us continue to embrace our differences and believe our diversity enriches us, and that college is a place for the free exchange of ideas. Together, it is each of us and our students, who will build a better tomorrow.
