Executive Team and Academic Dean Leadership
April 4, 2024
I wish to share an update regarding Chaffey's Interim Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness position.
After careful consideration and discussions, Misty Burruel, Interim Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness, has informed me of her decision to resign from the College, effective June 30, 2024, to pursue other professional opportunities. During her time at Chaffey College, Misty has served as a faculty member, coordinator, and dean. Over the past several months, Misty has led instruction and institutional effectiveness, and has served as a member of the Executive Team. Under her leadership, the College has realigned from school programs to academic and career communities, and completed the reaffirmation of accreditation process.
The College will initiate an internal recruitment to fill the Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness position on an interim basis for one year. We will be conducting a full recruitment next year. Further details regarding the timelines will be communicated next week. Prior to her interim role as Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness, Misty served as the Public Service, Culture and Society Dean. The College will also initiate an internal recruitment for this academic and career community, which we intend to have completed by the end of this academic year.
We extend our gratitude for Misty’s dedicated service, leadership, and contributions
to Chaffey College, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors. We plan to have
a celebratory reception for Misty closer to summer. Please join me in wishing her
well.
Thank you,
Henry D. Shannon, Ph.D.
Superintendent/President
