Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving
November 22, 2023
Dear Campus Community,
Every year on Thanksgiving, my family gets together to celebrate, enjoy a good meal
and each other’s company. It is a time when I like to reflect on the past year and
all the things for which I am thankful.
Chaffey College has had a very successful year so far, from our progress on all of the Measure P construction projects taking place on campus, to the sold-out Black and Brown Minds & Mattering Conference, as well as the Report to the Community luncheon.
Our visit from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) has also been a success, with the ACCJC visiting team giving the College positive feedback for our work here.
I am thankful for the thousands of students who are enrolled with us, whether they are starting, continuing or resuming their academic journeys. And I truly appreciate the faculty and staff who work tirelessly to support them.
I am deeply grateful for the service of our Governing Board, as well as the countless alumni across the globe who have taken what they have learned at Chaffey College and used it to change the world around them.
Whether you are traveling far to be with loved ones, or staying close to home, I wish you all a restful Thanksgiving holiday weekend. In observance of the holiday, campuses will be closed from Thursday, November 23, through Sunday, November 26, but we will resume our normal schedule on Monday, November 27.
Sincerely,
Henry D. Shannon, Ph.D.
